Organization Donations

The majority of the horses in our program are rescue horses. They have come from neglectful settings and been given a new lease on life. These horses are nursed back to health, treating any (sometimes costly) injuries they may have incurred. They are then retrained to be safe and sound companions and teachers for our riders.

How to Donate

Connections Therapeutic Riding Center is incredibly grateful for every donation whether it is $25 or $2,000 as we use every penny to pour right back into the children. If you are able and willing to make a financial contribution to Connections, first of all, thank you! One-time donations are always welcome and very much appreciated. However, Connections is in need of dedicated supporters that can give monthly donations to both help with operational costs and scholarships for children in need.

We are able to accept donations via check and credit card online.  If you would like to make an online donation with a major credit/debit card or a check that you would like to mail in, please click on the DONATE ONLINE NOW button.

All monetary donations to Connections Therapeutic Riding Center are tax-deductible! Please contact the director of Connections, Cathy Stecklein, for information on how to write-off your donations.

Riding Sessions

Riding sessions are conducted through out the week, but Saturdays are our busiest day of the week. Riding sessions are conducted in the mornings and early afternoon. We are always in need of volunteers to help the riders with their therapy. In some cases, it is necessary to have a volunteer to lead the horse and another to walk along side the rider. In other cases, riders are capable of grooming and tacking their horse but need supervision in order to maintain our safe environment for learning.

Volunteers will learn how to lead the riders through their exercises to prepare them to ride, as well as cool down after the ride.

Are you a handy?

If you are handy and like fixing things, there are always odd projects around the barn to help us continue to improve our facility.

Riding

We also need help in exercising our horses to keep them fit for riding. Only experienced horsepersons will be considered to assist in exercising and training our horses.
